Pediatric Oncology

We have a multidisciplinary team made up of pediatric oncologists, pediatric hemato-oncologists, pediatric oncologist surgeons, pediatric neurosurgeons, bone marrow transplant specialists, radiation oncologists, pediatric intensive care physicians, nurses specialized in the care of pediatric patients and other specialists, with experience in the various types of child cancer and dedicated to serving the unique needs of pediatric patients and their families.

  • We seek healing through effective and safe treatments, specific to each patient, be it surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, hematopoietic cell transplant, or the most innovative therapeutic options, such as targeted therapies or target therapies, and immunotherapy.
  • We try to minimize the side effects to improve the quality of life and that our little patients continue to enjoy their childhood.
  • We offer long-term follow-up and support for the early detection and/or prevention of possible late effects that may arise.
  • Our pediatric units are attended by specialists 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, ensuring permanent care and seeking the lowest results supported by clinical practice guidelines and international protocols.

Our work is always carried out in accordance with national and international guidelines and protocols, in collaboration with the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

In certain types of child cancer there may be a suspicion of being hereditary. For these cases we have advice from geneticists and genetic tests.
